History
Being the offspring of a forbidden relationship, her childhood was difficult. Her mother was Breezefall, medicine cat of WindClan, and her father was Shatter, a leader of a rogue group. When she was a young kit, her older half-sister was rebellious, and did everything her father instructed them not to do. Eventually, it led to her death. Flash wasn't shaken by this too much as she never had a connection with her half siblings as much as she did with her brother, Dart.
Eventually her father sent her and Dart away to join WindClan, where their mother was. She had no knowledge of her mother, and still doesn't know. During their travels to the Clans, Dart decided he wanted to be on his own and left. So Flash was alone on her way to WindClan, and remained that way for most of her time there. Being loner raised, she always had a sense of adventure, and many times she would attempt to act on the sense and run away. One day out on the moor, she ran into a tunnel cat. He was interesting, and had no name to go by. She was given the chance to name him, and decided Dig was appropriate, since he was a tunnel cat. The two shared an unspoken bond and went on many adventures together. Soon enough, though, Flash realized that his way of life compared to hers wasn't the same. He liked tunnels, and she loved being in the open and seeing new things. So, she one day left without saying a word.
She was away from anyone she knew for almost an entire season. During that time, her experiences were usually all bad. She met some cats, and at first they seemed nice. But when she finally decided to share a den with them for a few nights, the two toms tried to take advantage of her. Luckily, they had no knowledge of her being a trained WindClan warrior and she was able to escape. After that, she hadn't trusted anyone else until she encountered someone named Atlas. He was kind and offered her some prey, and when she discovered they were headed in the same direction, they traveled together. Of course, she slept far away from him when the night came. Soon enough their travels were coming to an end, but not in the way she thought. A badger attacked them, and at first they seemed to be able to take care of the beast, until Atlas ran off.
There were many other times when she found herself nearing death from lack of water or food, or because she found herself in a predicament. But even those journeys had to come to an end when she found herself in the very mountains she was raised in. She found her father, and discovered her had a group called Seekers that would explore the tunnels, looking for Dig. He ordered Bang, her half brother, to kill her. The only way to escape him was to flee into the very tunnels Dig lived in. So, she did. And that's how she found Dig and Onyx.
Flash had found the two a new place to live, a cave behind a waterfall flowing into a river. However, she was forced to stay and help them get to know the area, which only result in her getting close to them both. Onyx especially. She was heartbroken Dig moved on, but she didn't fight it, she didn't get upset. She only fell for a new cat... Onyx. And then she had to leave, so she didn't destroy their relationship.
But Onyx came after her. And they bonded as the other she-cat shared she was pregnant. They traveled to WindClan, and during that journey they both fell for each other. In no time they became mates. Flash became Flashbriar of WindClan, while Onyx became a queen. Onyx gave birth to five kits, but only two survived. Dartkit, after her brother, and Breezekit, after her mother.
They were a happy family with some tense issues. Flashbriar felt she had to put in all her effort to allow their family to fit into the Clan, and she felt the more effort she put forth, the less cats would hate her for bringing a pregnant loner. This caused some tension, but the mothers were able to work it out, just as the tunnels started to flood.
Flashbriar and Breezekit were separated from Onyx and Dartkit, trapped in a caved in tunnel. Surprisingly, the mother was able to remain calm and keep her daughter calm enough as they traveled the tunnels, searching for an escape. And she did find one. There was a hole, and she was able to push her daughter through it. She was digging her own way through when suddenly the ground collapsed, and Breezekit fell into the water. Before she had a chance to react, Breezekit was gone. However, Flash was not going to abandon her child and had raced down the tunnel until she found the limp, already cold from the water, body of her freshly drowned kit. She broke down, collapsing into the water and crying. However, she was able to gain enough strength to escape.
After stumbling about for a while with a dead kit in her grasp, she finally found a place to bury her daughter. By a rock she favored as a younger warrior, when she had just received her name. It's also a rock she had met Dig at. The kit was laid to rest with StarClan, and Flash mourned her, sobbing and becoming a pathetic mess as she blamed herself continuously for the death. She left, then, and headed for ThunderClan, where WindClan had gone. And then she saw Onyx with Dig... and more kits. Already heartbroken, she began to overthink. Had she been underground so long Onyx moved on to Dig and they had their own kits? Even though she knew that was impossible, she was certain she was correct and she left. And she didn't return for almost two moons.
When she did, she was another mess, left for Onyx to pick up the pieces. It seemed their roles switched.
